Samantha Smith
Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist
Hi! I’m Samantha and I am currently awaiting my graduation to officially become a certified Veterinary Assistant. For the past year I’ve been at Seneca College learning all the different aspects there are to animal care for animals as small as mice to as big as horses, and ending off my program with volunteering here at Truscott Animal Hospital where I’ve made many great friends (both human and animal of course), and where I now work my first job. I have always had a love for all types of animals, and have owned a variety of different pets over the years. I currently live at home with my two dogs Shamrock and Mufasa, and my two rats Goose and Pluto. I like to spend my time outside of work with my pets, or out in nature with friends and family!
Kathalina Salinas
Veterinary Assistant / Receptionist
Hi, my name is Kathalina, and I am a high school student happy to be working at Truscott Animal Hospital. During my two years working at this hospital, I have had the opportunity to learn quite a bit and expand my knowledge of animal anatomy. I now have a clearer idea of what I would like to do with my life outside of this hospital. Since I was a kid, I have always wanted to be a veterinarian to help animals, especially my own. I was born into a family of animals and have lived my life with about 10 cats, 5 dogs, 2 hamsters, 2 birds, and many fish. I have always helped animals, as a kid and even now. I will bring any animal into my home if they need help. I have helped many wildlife, including birds, bunnies, and squirrels. You will find me here mostly on Saturdays, always there to help. I may be young, but don’t underestimate me; I’m still open to answering any questions to the best of my abilities. May you love our team as much as I do

Outside of school and work, I enjoy playing piano, reading, and staying active through hiking, running, and gymnastics. I’m so thrilled to be a part of this amazing team!
Sophia Sardegna

Hi! My name is Josie and I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t surrounded by animals. Ever since i was little, my family and i have had cats, turtles and a ton of fish. Now I have my 3 cats, Mia, fela and zuza who definitely keep me very busy especially zuza who’s the youngest and demands to go on 3 walks a day (Yes, a cat that goes on walks!). I’ve worked with other adoption/rescue agencies and have an enormous love for all animals. Aside from my passion and love for animals, I am a full time student furthering my education in forensic psychology and criminal behaviour.
